Adam Cogan (Game Designer, Writer) - As the Design Director at Spark Plug Games, I am working to transform our company into a lucrative "idea nursery" where valuable intellectual properties are born. My comprehensive approach incorporates multiple media platforms to build stronger, enduring I.P. The best intellectual properties spring from powerful stories, and storytelling is another one of my passions. My written work has earned a Writers Guild Award for video games and an option for a major motion picture.

Previous to SPG, I was lead game designer on Dead Head Fred, an original action game for the PSP, and also Robotech: Battlecry, both if which were developed by Vicious Cycle Software.  I began my game industry career in 1995 at Music Pen, a multimedia company in New York City, starting as a QA tester and then moving on into 2D animation, project management, sound design, directing, and game design. Since then I have been employed as a level designer, 3D modeler, texture artist, writer and game designer.

In addition to my game industry career, I am a critically-acclaimed comic book writer for my work on "THE BLACK COAT" through Ape Entertainment and "VILLAINS" from Viper Comics. As you can probably tell from my site, I don't update aggresively, but I always have many books in development. Writing for comics is a dream come true, both as a lifelong fan of the medium, but also as a creator who took a long and circuitous route before returning home. I've been lucky enough to work in a variety of collaborative entertainment industries, and in many important ways, comics cannot be beat. There is an an unfiltered dialogue that exists between the creators and the consumers, and I can't imagine a purer form of visual entertainment.
